Glen Lake Cottage
With its crystal-clear turquoise waters, Glen Lake (near Glen Arbor, Michigan) is renowned for its natural beauty. It’s surrounded by lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
This Glen Lake retreat is absolutely stunning and hearkens to days gone by. Keeping the existing traditional buildings first built in the early 1900s, this has been an ongoing project of upgrades and remodeling, including adding a new garage and bunkhouse to house even more of the growing family.
Details of the work done include keeping the architecture of the Cape Cod style, tongue & groove paneling throughout, and custom-built bunk beds. Doors and cabinetry were built on-site by Lakeshore Custom Homes. In addition, new pine floors were made to look 100+ years old.
Other upgrades include a large screened-in porch area and new concrete walkways with inlaid beach stones. In addition, the kitchen was opened up with the addition of floating shelving and butcher block counters. One of the highlights of the new bunkhouse is the living room area that includes an Israeli custom stone fireplace.
Overall, the attention to detail and quality craftsmanship of Lakeshore Custom Homes can be seen throughout the Glen Lake Cottage. Its traditional design and classic features make this home a special and unique retreat for anyone looking to escape to a peaceful lakeside getaway.
